I want to inspire you to create your own integrated, holistic life-style through this ancient art of yoga by combining elements of mind, body, spirit, and heart. We live in an ever evolving, dynamic landscape physically & spiritually. Yoga is a life skill to help us navigate this gracefully and sustainably through both the joyous and difficult times. My ultimate goal as a yoga guide is to connect you to yourself and yourself to others in order to deepen our collective relationships. I encourage sublime curiosity, play, humor, love and sustained effort to push our edges and evolve.
Someone who practices with me sees the physical body as a vessel to explore what it means to be human. One who wants to physically challenge themselves and maybe along the way a spiritual essence awakens – a “breaking open” so to speak. If you are interested in foundational principles for optimal alignment that allow you a greater freedom in all aspects of life then come play! Expect some alignment principles and some flow. Experience is helpful but not necessary.
I come with a varied background in expressive and movement arts – dance, yoga, tai chi, and performance arts. I have studied a variation of Cheng Man-ch’ing’s Yang-style Tai Chi for 12 years. I began to “play” with yoga in 2002 and it has become my primary focus as of late. My emphasis is studying Anusara Yoga® with primary teachers Darren Rhodes and Christina Sell. I also study with Shiva Rea and considers her a primary influence and teacher with her Prana Flow®, Yoga Trance Dance™, and her wild, mystic yogini energy. I study and practice with other local teachers in the community. These disciplines give me a good combination of alignment with flow in order to create a greater freedom. I am heavily involved in local community building.
